I am a highly experienced Information System professional, with over 22 years of experience in networks and associated systems design (including E-Mail, Authentication, Audio Visual, Video Conference, VoIP, Data and Network Security), systems testing, implementation and management to ITIL standards.

Since becoming an independent consultant in 2009 I have been working with various clients in the roles of Technical Project Manager, Technical Consultant, Technical Architect and AV Consultant.  My recent consultancy has focused on the review, specification and deployment of IT and AV technologies primarily within new building projects.  Starting from RIBA Stage D/E to ensure building infrastructure is suitable for the technologies deployed combined with monitoring the installations through to hand over to the user.

Prior to becoming an independent consultant my full-time role was as the Technical Architect to design a secure (to the highest Government Standards), national, high-speed data network along with associated back end systems and services to support Police Counter Terrorism (CT) operations.  The role required integration of various new technologies into existing infrastructures within all UK Police forces and other Government agencies at numerous locations around the UK, evaluation and testing of data & network encryption technologies along with back end systems, services and facilities for deployment, on-going monitoring and management to ITIL standards.  This £32m+ project required attention to detail and a thorough understanding of the complexities, interactions and diverse connections in a number of unique environments combined with UK wide deployment.

Prior to this role I was the Network Services Manager with Cambridgeshire Constabulary for 11 years, as a hands on Technical Architect / Engineer whilst managing a team of engineers and administrators to maintain and expand the infrastructure to meet the ever changing demands of modern Policing throughout the county.

I am a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and a Chartered IT Professional with the British Computer Society and have held SC and DV security clearances.  I also hold a current Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card, a requirement when visiting construction sites within the UK.
