Assisting The Quadram Institute with an OJEU tender process for a new AV system in their new £multi-million state-of-the-art food and health research and endoscopy centre that will open mid-2018.

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

Working with ARK Build PLC renovations to the Grade II listed Chelsea Old Town Hall.  A challenging project working to install a modern AV solution into some impressive late Victorian architecture.

The spaces are used for social, artistic, retail, and musical events including weddings, product sales and exhibitions, corporate and private functions over a number of spaces.

Cambridge Consultants

Contracted to Cambridge Consultants as AV Consultant to a new development in Cambridge.  Working to equipment a complex space with AV suitable for everyday use and events such as new product launches.

Kettle's Yard, University of Cambridge

Acting as AV Consultant to the University of Cambridge’s modern and contemporary art gallery, Kettle’s Yard.

Working within the project working on a major building project to create a four-floor Education wing, improved exhibition galleries, a new entrance area and a café.

Newnham College, University of Cambridge

Working with the College on a new conference facility for their Sidgwick Avenue site.

The project is to equip a new conference facility with multiple projection, switching & signal distribution, recording & streaming technologies to support the College for internal and external events. 

AV Consultant to Sainsbury Laboratory, University of Cambridge

Working with the Sainsbury Laboratory to update the AV facilities within their Stirling Prize winning building in Cambridge.

The project is to update facilities encompassing multiple projection, switching & signal distribution, recording & streaming technologies to support current and future technologies. 

University of Cambridge, AV Consultant to Robinson College

Working with the College and their architects on the design and integration of AV technologies into a new Conference / Seminar building in Cambridge.

This impressive new facility for the College incorporates high definition projection and surround sound within the main conference facility.  Smaller, joinable, spaces are equipped with high definition video.  Background audio and a zoned Public Address system

The whole system can be interlinked to distribute audio and video throughout the spaces, including recording and streaming facilities.

University of Cambridge, AV Consultant to St Catharine’s College

Working with the College and their architects on the design and integration of AV technologies into the refurbishment of a Grade 1 listed space.

A unique set of challenges had to be overcome to ensure the AV systems integrated into the space whilst keeping the visual impact to a minimum. 

Judge Business School, Cambridge

Appointed as AV consultant to the design team to assist with the requirements, specifications, tendering, and installation of AV equipment and services into the re-development of the CJBS buildings.

This is a long term project, consisting of a number of rooms ranging from Harvard style lecture theatres through to small group working/meeting spaces.

Technologies include high definition video, audio, video conference, streaming, integration into existing management systems and building services.

Babraham Bioscience, Cambridge

Working with Babraham Bioscience Technologies and their design team to determine AV requirements and specifications in a new campus building.  Project to include the specification, tendering, installation monitoring, and final acceptance testing of the finished solution.

Consisting of interlinked Lecture Theatre and joinable seminar rooms, supporting high definition video, surround and stereo sound systems, and streaming technologies.

University of Westminster

In association with 4C Strategies, supporting the University with tendering for a desktop PC replacement rollout and Managed Print Service to replace the existing student facing printer fleet.

Polycom Ltd

Requested to develop a custom version of Sync-One2 to meet a specific requirement testing Video Conference installations, combined with a standalone synchronised test generator and data logging abilities.

Custom hardware and software delivered within a very short timeframe to enable Polycom to complete their testing.

The Welding Institute, Cambridge

Assisting the Welding Institute with the specification, tendering, and monitoring the installation of AV technologies in a new set of three buildings for the National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC) on their Cambridge campus at Granta Park.

Over 30 spaces needing various levels of AV equipment from large conference facilities to small meeting spaces.  Encompassing a wide variety of technologies and services.

University of Oxford, AV Consultant to the School of Geography and the Environment

In association with 4C Strategies, appointed to work with the School on an a summer refurbishment project with an aggressive schedule.  

Generating user requirements, technical specification, procurement assistance and final system testing and sign off.  The solution has seen a number of rooms fitted with dual full HD projection solutions, touch screen control and integration with building services such as lighting and blinds.

AV Consultant to the McDonald Institute of Archaeology, University of Cambridge,

Appointed to work with the architects on the refurbishment of part of the McDonald Institute of Archaeology.  Gathering user requirements to produce a specification and provisional budgets for the AV within the project.

Anglia Ruskin University, AV Consultant working with IT Services

Assisting with an intensive package of summer AV works, comprising of over 60 installations spread over multiple locations, with a mix of refurbishments and new installations.  Acting in a QA role ensuring the installations are completed within a restricted window, tested, and functional for the start of the University year.

Working on the specification / design and provisional budgets for the creation of an AV rich chemistry laboratory, with 150 active endpoints able to have content directly pushed or independently pulled from a VLE as required.

University of Cambridge, AV Consultant to the Department of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology

Working with the Department on the AV requirements for a new build project.  Appointed following a competitive bidding process to work through from the initial user specification to the final installation and sign off of the finished services within the building.

University of Essex, AV Consultant

Working with the University as an independent AV Consultant to produce AV Design Proposals, Performance Specification & Tender documents for new build projects on the Colchester and Southend-On-Sea campus. Working from RIBA Stage D/E to integrate the AV technologies into the buildings during construction.

Including highly interactive group learning & teaching spaces, Lecture Theatre with full HD and surround sound, flexible learning areas with multiple group working positions, and Boardroom / Council Chamber style facilities with video conference facilities.

University of Cambridge, Technical Consultant & Technical Architect

Initially to peer review IT & Audio Visual design proposals within a new building for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, starting at RIBA Stage D/E.  Subsequently requested to obtain user requirements and generate technical designs & performance specifications for user agreement before assisting with the tendering processes for IT and AV integrators.  Installation assistance with the IT and AV systems and various building services.

The building systems unify multiple disparate solutions from seven independent departments into a single new IT solution (Servers, Storage, Network, Firewall) for easier management, TCO and reduced energy usage.

Common Seminar spaces with interactive learning technologies and a flexible dual use space equipped for full HD media and 5.1 surround sound.

Anglia Ruskin University, Technical Project Manager

Management of the technical elements of IT & AV design, installation and testing within several new build projects on various campus locations.  Working from RIBA Stage D/E to integrate technologies into the builds, generation of specifications for tendering, tender reviews and monitoring and management of the installations to ensure design compliance though to final acceptance and sign-off, within a Price 2 framework.

University Centre Peterborough; General teaching spaces, 200 seat lecture theatre.

ICENI Centre, Colchester; Specialist facility for the teaching of laparoscopic surgery with a 50 seat lecture theatre containing live links to operating theatres at Colchester General Hospital, an internal mock operating theatre, and others globally via videoconference facilities.

Post graduate Medical Institute, Chelmsford; New build to support the Faculty of Health, comprising of a 400 seat lecture theatre with full HD projection and 7.1 surround sound, HD video conference facilities, and lighting rig.  200 seat lecture theatre with retractable seating to create a conference space.  Seminar rooms and boardroom style facility with HD videoconference.  Integration of a bespoke Simulation Lab for the training of various medical professionals with de-briefing facilities in seminar spaces within the PMI building.  Lab supplied by Nordic Simulations of Finland.

University Centre Harlow; A joint venture with Harlow College providing a 96 seat lecture theatre and multiple smaller general purpose interactive teaching rooms.

Some additional consultancy on Data Center design and attendance monitoring systems also undertaken.
